Ueno Park opened in 1873 and remains one of Tokyo's most popular sightseeing destinations. Located near Ueno Station, it features a variety of museums and interesting landmarks - including Shinobazu Pond and Ueno Zoo. The zoo, Japan's first zoological garden, has been one of the most famous attractions in the park since it welcomed the first panda bears, a gift from China, in 1972.
