Located in the center of town, Yokohama's Chinatown is a bustling and exciting district filled with more than 500 shops and restaurants. This is Japan's largest Chinatown and one of the largest in the world. Originally, this district began as the residence of Chinese traders settling in Yokohama. While the number of residents has decreased in recent years, it is still an interesting place to experience a taste of China. Some of the attractions include the ten colourful gates that surround Yokohama Chinatown, the temple Kantei-byo and the eight-story Daska building which houses three floors of food stands selling many Chinese delicacies.
